introduction/brief CV

Dr. Aldarwesh is a researcher and faculty member in the Optometry Department at King Saud University. She earned a Master’s degree in Pharmacology from the university in 2009. She then joined the King Abdullah International Medical Research Center, where she completed a Master’s degree in Bioethics in 2012. In the same year, Dr. Aldarwesh joined the Norwich Research Park at the University of East Anglia and earned her PhD in 2016.

Dr.Aldarwesh’s research interests are ocular biology and ocular therapeutics. The research includes but not limited to models of diseases such as glaucoma, diabetes and ocular surface diseases in animals and cell culture, testing pharmacological effects of drugs and toxicity. Also, Amal is interested in inflammatory and autoimmune conditions. Besides, patients’ behaviour, attitude and perception are another scope for her interest.
