Dr. Muhammad Farzik Ijaz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering at King Saud University. He earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, where his work on shape-memory alloys was recognized with the prestigious Provost’s Award from the Japanese Ministry of Education (MEXT). He has held postdoctoral, academic research, and lecturer positions across Europe, including at CIRIMAT (National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse, France), the Czech Technical University in Prague. His international experience supports a strong interdisciplinary approach to teaching and research.

At King Saud University, Dr. Muhammad Farzik Ijaz is actively engaged in research and pedagogical activities, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and supervising thesis work in mechanical engineering. His focus areas include biomaterials, solid mechanics, and nanotechnology. He has extensive experience in developing and teaching specialized courses, as well as preparing accreditation documents for ABET and NCAAAHis research group’s work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals and presented at conferences, with applications in biomedical devices and sustainable engineering.
