NAN 562 :ماجستير علم وتقنية النانو التطبيقية المشترك:Nano materials for Sustainable Energy and Environment

This course aims to present a number of topics in nanotechnology and nanosciences for sustainable energy and environment systems. Introduction of nanomaterials for a number of different applications related to catalysis, photovoltaics, hydrogen production, fuel cells, batteries and thermoelectricity. Environmental effects of energy production, conversion and use.

2. Learning outcome
After completion of this course, you should be able to:
1.Describe nanostructure for energy-related applications such as solar cells, catalysis with a focus on photo catalysis, batteries, super capacitor and water electrolysis
2.Explain the beneficial effects of sustainable nanotechnology on climate change, improving our quality of life and promoting sustainable functional materials
3. Explain potential applications of nanomaterials for environmental improvement including air and water purification.

1. Functional nanomaterial in energy and environmental science Introduction.
2. Engineering nanoarchitectures for high performance solar cells.
3. 2D structures for CO2 utilization.
4. Advanced nanocatalysts for fuel-cell technologies.
5. Nanoscale materials for the treatment of water contaminated by bacteria and viruses
6. Nano-based technologies for environmental soil remediation.
7. Summary and future perspectives of nanomaterials and technologies: Special emphasis on energy and environment.
