Brief biography
Professor Hamad Abdullah Fahd Al-Lohedan
Professor of Organic Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, College of Science, King Saud University
● He obtained a Ph.D. from the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA (1401).
● He obtained Master's degree from the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA (1399).
● He obtained a Bachelor's degree with excellent grades with first class honors in two majors, Chemistry and Biology (zoology) from Riyadh University, currently King Saud currently (1395), and worked as a Teaching Assistant there itself for a year, then he was sent to complete postgraduate studies in the USA. During his studies there in USA, he worked as a Teaching Assistant at Department of Chemistry, University of California, Santa Barbara, for one year in order to complete the requirement of Ph.D. (1399).
● He was promoted to Associate Professor (during 1406), then to Professor (1416).
● As of now, he has published 389 scientific papers in prestigious International scientific journals classified (ISI) with high impact factor and registered in the web of science. He also registered more than 19 patents at the US patent office, in addition to several others under the process of registration.
● Co-authored four chemistry books in Arabic language at King Saud University, and three books in English, in addition to participating in some book chapters in other books.
● Supervisor of the Surfactants Research Chair since 1432 AH – up to date.
● He obtained support from King Abdulaziz City for two research projects, one of them on drug delivery technology and the other on preparing some compounds and using them in various petroleum industries.
● He is working as the principal investigator for the Research Group RG-148 for the last seven consecutive years.
● He is working for the Researchers Supporting Project, King Saud University under the following numbers: RSP-2019/54, RSP-2020/54, RSP-2021/54, and RSP-2023R54.
● As a journalist, he writes articles to several newspapers, where he wrote more than thousand journalistic articles in Al-Riyadh newspaper, Horof wa afkar page (the Letters and Ideas page), Al-Yamamah magazine, and others.
● Strong interest to participate in some television programs, prepare dialogues and present the knowledge for some programs like modern dictionary, scientific terminology etc.
● As of administrative role, he worked as Vice-Dean of the College of Science (1412-1414) and also as its acting Dean (1415).
● He worked as the Deputy Chairman for the Department of Chemistry, College of Education in 1402-1404.
● He participated in several International Scientific Conferences organized in different countries like the USA, Germany, Italy, Holland, Britain, Sweden, Japan, New Zealand, China, Korea, Australia, South Africa, Brazil, Vietnam etc.
● He worked as a consultant in several sectors, including the General Organization for Military Industries in Al-Kharj and the Ministry of Education (1406) (Al-Maarif) currently. He also worked as a consultant in the Ministry of Higher Education (Currently Education) for more than 20 years (1417-1433), and its representative on the Board of Directors at the National Commission for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and a Member of its Directors Board (1426-1432 AH), in addition to the membership of the Saudi-Chinese Committee and the membership of the Saudi-Italian Committee.
● He participated in a number of lectures on the Development of Education in the Kingdom in several occasions outside the Kingdom, such as Morocco, Austria, Italy and others (See full CV).
● The countries visited on a scientific mission are:

● He participated in a number of delegations headed by the Minister of Higher Education in Morocco to implement the Saudi-Moroccan Days Festival in the years 1418, 1423, 1424. These events also include Jordan, Egypt, and several nations.
● He participated in the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Saudi-Italian relations, which witnessed many scientific, artistic, cultural, political, heritage, and other activities (1417).
