Dietary Protective Influence of Petroselinum crispum Nanoparticles on Some Biochemical, Reproductive Hormones, and Physiological Biomarkers of Female Clarias gariepinus (Burchell,1822) Exposed to Bisphenol A Toxicity

The currentstudyisapioneertrialtoverifytheeffectivenessof Petroselinum crispum (parsley) nanoparticles(PNPs)forfortifying

physiological andbiochemicalbiomarkersinfemaleAfricancatfish postexposuretobisphenolA(BPA)toxicity.Theaimofthis

experiment istoverifytheinfluence ofPNPsformitigatingserumhemato-biochemicalalterationsaswellasantioxidantenzyme,

and hormonalchangesinducedbyBPAtoxicityinthehepaticandovariantissues.Fishwereequallyallocatedintofourgroups:

group Iasacontrolwithoutanytreatments,groupIIreceivedacommercialdiet +PNPs (4g/kgdiet).IngroupIII, fish were

subjected to1/10LC50(BPA)(1.43 μg/L), whileingroupIV, fish got1/10LC50BPA(1.43 μg/L)+PNPs (4g/kgdiet)for60

consecutive days.ExposuretoBPAshowedmacrocytichypochromicanemiaandleukopenia,andanoticeableelevationinglucose,

alanine amino-transferase(ALT),aspartateaminotransferase(AST),ALP,urea,creatinine,cortisol,cholesterol,andtestosterone

(T) hormone.Furthermore,serumAchE,estradiol(E2),follicle-stimulatinghormone(FSH),luteinizinghormone(LH),globulin,

albumin, andtotalproteinsweresignificantly decreasedinaBPA-exposedgroup.Alternatively,activitiesofsuperoxidedismutase

(SOD), lipidperoxidation(LPO),andcatalase(CAT)werenotablyaugmentedinthehepatictissueandovariesoftheBPA-

supplemented fish. Whiletotalantioxidantcapacity(TAC)andreducedglutathione(GSH)levelsdecreasedintheequaltissuesof

exposed fish. PNPs-supplementeddietsincombinationwithBPAalleviateditsdestructiveeffectsonthetestedparameters.In

conclusion, theresultsprovedthatBPAisanendocrinehormonaldisruptorthatinducesimbalancesinbloodprofile, hepato–renal

indicators, andstressparameters,besidestheoccurrenceofoxidativedamageandreproductivedysfunction.Interestingly,PNPs

have aprotectiveroleinattenuatingBPAtoxicityandmodulatingallthemeasuredbiomarkers,aswellasimprovingthefertilityof

female Clarias gariepinus.
