I am an Associate Professor in the Information Technology Department at the College of Computer and Information Sciences, King Saud University. My expertise lies in the fields of Social Computing, Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Internet of Things (IoT), and Assistive Technologies. With a commitment to improving quality control in data annotation, I have pioneered dynamic methodologies for crowdsourcing systems and developed ontology-based task models for optimized management. My recent focus is on Generative AI, exploring its potential in education and sentiment analysis, alongside various projects applying ML to areas like skills forecasting and personalized recommendations.
I have led several projects in IoT, including patient queuing solutions using Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) and smart clothing systems for the visually impaired using NFC. In healthcare applications, I contributed to an augmented and virtual reality system to alleviate dental anxiety among young patients and a techno-psychological solution for preschool separation anxiety. My contributions to research have been recognized with multiple grants as a Principal Investigator, and I serve on numerous professional committees and academic boards, reflecting my commitment to advancing IT innovation and mentorship in Saudi Arabia.
