The Impact of Electrical Signature Analysis and its potential for the Factory of the Future

from

Simon Jagers, Founder of Samotics, Netherlands, Wednesday, October 23, 2024. 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Abstract: AI-powered Electrical Signature Analysis (ESA) represents a significant breakthrough by using high-frequency electrical data to extract insights regarding the condition, performance, and energy efficiency of AC motors and rotating equipment. This approach offers distinct benefits, including Truly remote monitoring, High fault detection accuracy and Performance and energy efficiency insights.

A recent four-year study conducted by Samotics and partners, including Utrecht University in the Netherlands, examined the impact of ESA-based monitoring on 1,000 industrial pumps. The study found that ESA could detect most faults on motors, transmission systems, and pumps, as well as providing early fault detection in conveyor systems.

In the factory of the future, the combination of ESA technology, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), digital twins, and other advanced technologies will lead to enhanced resilience, improved performance, and greater energy efficiency at scale. Additionally, this integration will enable more flexible production processes that better cater to industrial clients' specific needs.

During this seminar, Simon Jagers, founder of Samotics, will introduce ESA technology, demonstrate its current value proposition, and outline the roadmap for its future development.

Biography: Simon Jagers is a co-founder of Samotics, a Dutch technology company dedicated to optimizing the performance of heavy industry equipment. Their flagship product, SAM4, is a plug-and-play, AI-powered system leveraging electrical signature analysis. As a global leader in this technology, Samotics has secured investment from ABB and is expanding into Saudi Arabia to help industries improve efficiency, safety, and intelligence in their operations. Simon studied International Business Studies and Law at Maastricht University in The Netherlands and held senior roles at Dell, Oracle, and EMC.
