CHEM 443; Chemistry of Natural Products

Course Main Objective:

ِCHEM 443 is an elective course and after the completion of this course, the student should be able:

• To understand the chemistry of many natural products, terpenoides, steriodes, alkaloids and flavonoids and their use as drugs and food.
• To learn how to isolate the various types of natural products.
• To know the method of identification, analysis, and separation techniques of natural products.
• To express their idea as well as apply their knowledge and skills to  interpret how to analyze and identify unknown.

• To produce these chemical products in the right chemical form is the jurisdiction of the study of this course.

Course Description

The course will focus on some of the key isolation methods manufacturing technologies and applications such as:

• Terpenoids
• Steroids
• Alkaloids
• Flavones
