Homework : 10% , Test No. 1 : 15%
Test No. 2 : 15% ,Final Test : 60%
Course Delivery:
There are two lectures per week. In addition there is a two-hour lab. Session for problems, questions, reviews, …etc.
Homework and Testing Policies:
University and College policies on homework and examinations will be strictly enforced. Students are to work independently on home works and tests. They are to be handed in on time. No late home works will be accepted. Biweekly home works are given and are due a week later.

Second Midterm Exam: 15%, Final Test : 60% .

- Sample space, events counting sample points (combinations only) , (2.1- 2.3).
- Probability of an event, additive rules. (2.4, 2.5)
Week Three ( 23/ 2 /1429 ):
- Conditional Probability, Multiplication Rule.
- Independent random events
Week Four ( 30 / 2/ 1429):
- Total Probability Rule
- Bay’s Rule (2.6-2.8). Chapter Review.
Week Five ( 07/ 2 1429 ) :
- Random Variables (R.V.) , Discrete Probability distributions (3.1, 3.2)
- Continuous Probability distributions (3.3), Chapter Review.
Week Six ( 14 / 3 / 1429 ) :
- Mean of a R.V., Variance of a R.V. (4.1, 4.2) , Moments of a R.V.,
Mean of a linear combinations of R. V’s.- Chebychev’s Inequality (4.3, 4.4), Chapter Review.
Week Seven ( 21 / 3 / 1429 ):
-Discrete Uniform distribution. Binomial distribution (5.2, 5.3)

- Sampling distribution of the mean from normal populations, t-distribution (8.5, 8.7)

- Statistical Inference, Classical estimation methods, Estimation of the mean (9.1, 9.2, 9.4)
- Standard error of a point estimate, estimating the difference between two means (9.5, 9.7)
Week Eleven ( 27/ 4 / 1429 ):
- Estimating a proportion (9.9) - Estimating the difference between two proportions (9.10)
Week Twelve (05 / 5 / 1429 ):
- Testing a statistical hypothesis, One- and Two-tail tests, Types of errors (10.1, 10.3)
- Testing means with known population variance, Relation to confidence intervals
(10.4, 10.5, 10.6).
