Study the effect of using different materials in the Composite walls

suwaidan, M Al . 2014

In this project, we are work to get the best isolation materials which can be used in a composite wall. The composite wall consists of three layers;

  1. 15cm concrete blocks thickness.
  2.  5cm Insulation materials.
  3. 10cm concrete blocks thickness.

We select some insulation materials which are easy to get in the local market. For example; Polyurethane, Fiber-glass rigid board, Polystyrene-expanded, Fiber-glass blanket, Vermiculite and Seporex. We will compare the composite walls have these materials upon the following:

  • Thermal conductivity.
  • Thermal resistance of 5cm thickness.
  • Cost of a unit resistance.
