Dr. Mubarak Alkhatnai is a professor of applied linguistics and translation at King Saud University. He currently works as the Dean of Development and Quality at the same university. He has worked as an academic staff, a department head, a researcher, editorial board member, quality assessor and trainer and had many leading roles within and outside of KSU. He published many papers and translated 4 books into Arabic including “In Other Words”, “the Future of Translation Technology”, “Translation Changes Everything: Theory and Practice”, and “The Routledge Encyclopaedia of Research Methods in Applied Linguistics”.
He presented in many events concerning topics related to translation studies, translation technologies, intercultural translation, quality assurance, university ranking, and institutional excellence. On a personal level, he is a certified KSU-QMS, NCAAA, ISO, Six Sigma assessor and auditor. He is a member of many translation and quality organizations and leads many auditing teams both within and outside of Saudi Arabia.
