313 PCS
The 313 PCS Clinical Periodontology course runs over one year. It reviews and expands the student’s knowledge of the biology of healthy periodontium; introduces the student to the current classification of periodontal diseases; and provides the fundamental knowledge of the etiology, microbiology, and diagnosis of periodontal diseases. Basic information will be integrated with necessary clinical skills to systematically evaluate and diagnose all currently recognized forms of periodontal diseases, and formulate a comprehensive treatment plan. This includes the ability to recognize the less common forms of gingivitis and periodontitis and those systemic conditions that may influence the initiation, progression, or treatment of periodontal diseases.
