Abdulsalam Altamimi has a second honour degree BSc in industrial engineering and distinction awarded MSc in manufacturing engineering. Obtained the PhD in Bio/Manufacturing engineering. Currently he is an Assistant Professor at King Saud University in Industrial Engineering Department. His PhD research involved the design and fabrication of the next generation of bone plates by minimising/eliminating the stress shielding effect and removal of second surgery for bone plate removal for improved bone fracture healing. Abdulsalam have gained a great deal of experience in several tools and protocols such as Additive Manufacturing for metals and polymer, 3D Modelling and Simulation, cell culture and behaviour, surface characterisation, wear and friction and materials science.
Orthopedic problems are significantly increasing posing pressure to healthcare systems. Traditional clinical procedures for traumatic bone fracture applications comprise the use of high stiffness…
