435 PHYS - Laser Physics فيزياء الليزر

Course Description

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental principles of laser physics. It begins by discussing the basic properties of atoms and light, including absorption, stimulated emission, and population inversion. The course then explores amplification criteria, line shapes, and cavity models, with a focus on the Fabry-Perot cavity and its applications in laser technology. Various types of lasers, such as solid-state, semiconductor, gas, dye, free electron, and titanium sapphire lasers, are examined in detail. The course also covers cavity stability, laser beam properties, and practical laser cavities. Finally, it highlights the diverse applications of lasers in medical, industrial, military, and scientific fields, including holography and communications.
