PL492 - Sustainable Urban Development
The course explains the concept of sustainable development at global regional and local levels. This course addresses the social, economic and environmental dimensions of sustainable urban development, so that local resources and methods of preserving them from deterioration and excessive use are studied with a view to protecting them for future generations. Some key topics will be studied, including sustainability indicators, urban demographic trends, environmental justice, green building, urban sprawl, sustainable transport and energy, and global climate change. In addition, the role of information technology and social networks is discussed in the context of promoting ideas on sustainable development at the global level. In addition, the course will address the Kingdom's Vision 2030, programs and initiatives towards sustainable development and to study international cases and experiences that will be analyzed, discussed and learned from the lessons learned.
