Water Supply and Drainage Systems

This course introduces the fundamental principles and engineering practices involved in the planning and design of water supply, wastewater, and stormwater systems. Topics include estimation of water demand and wastewater generation, and the design of water distribution networks, pumping stations, and storage facilities. Students will also study the design of sanitary and storm sewer systems, including hydraulic analysis and network layout.

The course covers key appurtenances used in water, sanitary, and stormwater networks, as well as practical aspects of sewer construction, operation, and maintenance. In addition, students will apply computer-based design tools to analyze and optimize water and sewer networks, bridging theoretical concepts with real-world engineering applications.
