Born in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on March 17, 1953 (1/7/1372 AH). Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry - Geology with a Second Honor Degree, earned in 1976 from King Saud University, and served as a teaching assistant in the Chemistry Department.
In 1981, received a scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies in Organometallic Chemistry at the School of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences, University of Sussex, Brighton, United Kingdom. Completed a Master’s degree in 1982 with a thesis titled “Study of Group IV Complexes by Helium-1 Spectrum and Cyclic Voltammetry.”
Earned a PhD in Organometallic Chemistry in 1986 with a dissertation titled “Phospha-Alkyne Complexes of the Platinum Metals” from the School of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences, University of Sussex, Brighton, United Kingdom.
