GRADUATE STUDIES ENGLISH COURSES 055 AND 056

Courses 055 and 056 are advanced level English language courses, the purpose of which is to 
(a) improve student’s language skills at the graduate level. 
(b) make them competent in working with complex language structures, which consist of words arranged to convey a specific message.
(c) develop the advanced skills of transforming the written material into clear and correct mental images and vice versa.
With the completion of the courses, learners should be able to …

1. Read and understand passages with complex sentence structures and display a good command of working vocabulary.
2. Write sustained texts characterized by complexity of purpose and subject matter and acquire formality in language and construction.
3. Use writing to develop familiar ideas, events and information.

      4. Construct meanings from a range of texts, including those characterized by complexity of contextual understanding.
