Prof. Salman A. AlQahtani is a distinguished academic leader and internationally recognized scientist in the field of computer science and engineering, with more than 27 years of experience spanning academia, government, and industry. Ranked among the world’s top 2% of scientists by Stanford University, his pioneering research covers next-generation wireless networks, digital forensics, and emerging technologies. He has published over 300 peer-reviewed papers and authored several scientific books, contributing significantly to the advancement of knowledge in areas such as 5G/6G networks, cyber sovereignty, AI-driven business strategies, and smart cities. His vision integrates technical excellence with national and global priorities, establishing him as a leader in digital transformation, network infrastructure innovation, and research-policy integration.
In addition to his academic achievements, Prof. AlQahtani has held key leadership roles, including Dean of the College of Computer and Information Sciences at King Saud University, Director of the National Center for Future Network Technologies, and Research Chair Director for New Emerging Technologies and 5G/6G. His career began as an officer engineer in the Ministry of Interior and network engineer at Saudi Aramco, later advancing into senior academic and advisory positions. He has also represented Saudi Arabia on international platforms, including the WFEO Committee on Information and Communication.
