introduction/brief CV

Rangaswamy Madugundu received the M.Sc. degree in Botany from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, India, in 2002, and the Ph.D. degree (Environmental science and technology) from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India, in 2009. Since 2011, he has been working as an Assistant Professor with the Precision Agriculture Research Chair, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. From 2003 to 2008, he was a Research Fellow with the National Remote Sensing Agency, Hyderabad, India. From 2008 to 2011, he served as a Project Scientist (RS&GIS) for the World Bank sponsored project “Monitoring and Evaluation of Watersheds” with the Antrix Corporation Ltd., Bangalore, India, and also served as a GIS expert for the Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) at Watershed Development Department, Government of Karnataka, Bangalore, India. His research interests include forest biomass and carbon sequestration, evapotranspiration and water productivity mapping of agricultural fields, and NPP of desert farming systems using Eddy covariance and remotely sensed data.
