This course offers an introduction to linguistics and the study of human language, and assumes no previous knowledge of the subject. It aims at teaching introductory students the basic fundamental concepts of linguistics and its different branches that deal with different levels of language structure. It also provides students with a theoretical background and practical tools to analyze language in terms of phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics
