Bioresources and Biorefineries

Biorefineries constitute a novel concept for a more sustainable future in which petro-refineries aim to be replaced by an analogous model and products (chemicals, fuels materials, energy carriers, etc.) derived from renewable feedstocks using a number of green technologies and protocols. With this idea, the course aims to provide a state of the art on (bio)chemicals and biomaterials production from biomass and waste as well as the state of the art of biorefineries as a future sustainable paradigm.
