CLS 212
This is a general medical microbiology course intended for students within the collage outside the department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences. The structure of the course is based on presenting the fundamentals of microbiology together with introduction of different infectious agents. Certain subjects related to community health are also covered.
The laboratory is set up to familiarize the student with the techniques necessary to grow and identify microorganisms. The semester covers basic techniques of media preparation, staining, microscopy, practice of sterilization and disinfection and specimen collection.
