I obtained my Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science from the University of Southampton. I am currently an Assistant Professor at the College of Computer and Information Sciences (CCIS), King Saud University. My spark is in RDI (Research, Development and Innovation), and I find it amusing to get ideas in the production line, and that's where my focus is.
Current roles:
CCIS Vice-Dean Assistant for Grad Studies and Scientific Research
Digital Innovation Unit Director | Entrepreneurship Institute
Research interests:
Currently, I am interested in social network analysis, in both the connectivity side and the content side. My interests include: analysing popular content on social media and communication-style studies. I am also interested in spatial-temporal social networks, Snapchat specifically. On the content-front, I am interested in Emojis analysis and prediction on social media (utilising NLP techniques). I am also interested in learning to rank approaches to content retrieval and ranking, which is a machine learning approach for information retrieval.
