TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
As an instructor, my task is to facilitate students’ learning. I believe my students are an extension of me. I take into consideration their learning styles to cater to all their needs. I encourage self-learning by providing them with the time to figure out their mistakes themselves before correcting them so to establish the foundation for life-long learning. Sparking my students’ enthusiasm is my main goal. I encourage observing and seeking answers. I present the content in a way that catches their interest and try to create a positive friendly atmosphere so to encourage students’ participation while providing them all with equal opportunities. I link what they learn to real life and I am keen on providing examples from both cultures: the Arabic and Western ones. I employ a number of ways of assessments and watch my students’ progress through continuous assessment. Prompt oral and detailed written feedback is one of the main aspects that chararcterises my teaching. I  interact with my students through my KSU LMS and homepage (https://fac.ksu.edu.sa/dalmalki) as I upload additional materials, sample tests,  assignments and grades. I am available during my office hours and my students can contact me via email anytime.
Respect is the cornerstone of my relationship with my students. I spare no effort to instill into them the love for learning all the way. I aim to touch their lives and change their attitudes positively towards linguistics and translation in particular and learning in general.

Mohd Sajid Ali

Bio
During my Ph.D. time I worked mainly on micellar catalysis of oxidation of carbohydrates by cerium. The work was interesting as in plant and animal tissues cerium is an important metal element, it combines with most of pivotal living active molecules and plays important physiological function. Cerium(III), the reduction product of cerium(IV), with suited concentration can activate plant growth and improve the metabolism level of sugar and grease. For this reason, various fertilizers and fodder containing cerium(III) are widely applied in China.

During my course of Ph.D., I was highly motivated to do some researches on drug delivery, protein folding and unfolding, and nanoparticles but was unable to do the so due to specificity of my Ph.D. thesis topic. After completing my Ph.D., I decided to do some work on drug-polymer interactions and, therefore, submitted a research project entitled "Modulation of Drug-Polymer Interaction: Effect of Excipients" which was granted to me and I started work on the project in Chemistry department in Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. During the tenure of project my main concern was drug-polymer interaction, however, I also worked on other topics of my interest, such as surfactant-polymer and protein-surfactant interactions.

After completing the project on drug-polymer interactions, I joined the Chemistry Department, King Saud University, Riyadh as an Assistant Professor. Here I have expanded my research area and also started to do work on drug-albumin interactions, protein aggregation and amyloid formations, nanoparticles synthesis and their interactions with biomolecules, drug-DNA interactions, etc.

Recently, I have learned some computational methods such as molecular docking and molecular modelling (DFT etc.). I am using these techniques along with experimental results to prove my researches.

These are some research titles on which I am willing to work and each of them is sufficient of a Ph.D. work:

1. Physicochemical properties of mixed micelles and their effect in enhanced oil recovery.

2. Bimetallic nanoparticles functionalized with surfactants and their interactions with biomolecules.

3. Simple one step synthesis, characterization and biomolecule interactions of silver nanoparticles obtained from plant extracts.

4. Interaction of antibiotics with human plasma protein.

5. Interaction of nucleic acid and serum albumins with anticancer drug(s).

6. Natural and biocompatible surfactants on the aggregation behavior of protein.

7. Estimation of binding sites of several drugs in serum albumins by molecular docking methods.

8. Understanding the site of interaction between nucleic acids and some important drugs using molecular docking simulations.
