I am an assistant professor of public health at the College of Medicine at King Saud University (KSU) and a consultant in public health at King Saud University Medical City (KSUMC). My expertise lies at the intersection of public health, policy, human rights, and social development, with a strong focus on population health management (PHM), social determinants of health, and evidence-based policymaking. Grounded in servant leadership, my approach centers on empowering future public health leaders, fostering inclusive policy dialogues, and advancing systems that prioritize equity and social impact.
I hold a doctor of public health (DrPH) from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where I trained in public health leadership, global health systems, and interdisciplinary research methods. I currently serve as a board member of the Scientific Board for Preventive Medicine at the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), where I contribute to the development of competency-based training programs and the advancement of preventive medicine education. Previously, I was a board member of the Saudi Human Rights Commission, where I worked on health-related human rights, social policy, and interdisciplinary approaches to equity and justice. Internationally, I was a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) Advisory Committee, engaging in multilateral dialogues on human rights, global health equity, and sustainable development. My contributions extend to intercultural, policy, and strategic dialogues that shape both national and global public health agendas.
My work in population health management (PHM) focuses on designing and implementing evidence-driven models to enhance health system efficiency, strengthen primary healthcare, and advance preventive health strategies. As chief of staff & interim CEO of the Quality of Life Program under Saudi Vision 2030, I led cross-sectoral health and social policy initiatives that integrated public health, mental health, and social wellness into national development frameworks. This included designing and executing policies that enhanced population health outcomes, addressed social determinants of health, and ensured equitable access to health and well-being services.
In academia, I lead and mentor medical students, residents, and public health professionals, integrating policy analysis, health systems research, and advanced epidemiological methodologies into education and training. My teaching approach emphasizes practical application of public health strategies, with a particular interest in shaping competency-based training programs, developing public health curricula, and fostering leadership in preventive medicine.
I welcome opportunities to collaborate on research, policy innovation, and strategic initiatives in public health, health equity, and interdisciplinary dialogue. If you are interested in joint research, strategic discussions, inviting me to teach, or contributing to public health education initiatives, I invite you to connect.
