introduction/brief CV

- A cybersecurity researcher in the area of systems and software security and an assistant professor at King Saud University.
- Recipient (ranked 1st) of the CSAW'20 best applied research paper award in cybersecurity for the MENA region.
- Published at top-tier cybersecurity conferences such as the Internet Society Network and Distributed System Security Symposium (NDSS), USENIX Security, and IEEE Security and Privacy  (Oakland). Some of my papers are taught at world class institutions such as the University of Texas at Dallas.
- Received a B.S. degree from the Electrical Engineering department at King Saud University (Honors), a M.S. degree from the Electrical Engineering & Computer Science  (EECS, now ECE) department at Northwestern University (Honors), and a Ph.D degree from the Electrical & Computer Engineering department at Purdue University -- West Lafayette. My thesis title was "Internet of Things Systems Security: Benchmarking and Protection".
- My research focuses on the area of systems and software security. Previously, I developed automated tools to protect systems' software against exploitable bugs. All prototypes of my work are open-source.
Interests: Cyber security, software security, system security, application security, reverse engineering, memory corruption attacks (exploits) and defenses, IoT security, embedded security.
