Psychology of Cognition, Emotion & Motivation (OPTO 447)
This course introduces students to key concepts in cognitive psychology, with emphasis on cognition, emotion, and their interaction. Topics include historical and methodological perspectives in cognition, face recognition and emotional expression, memory processes and memory disorders, mental imagery, thinking and reasoning, and the influence of emotional states on cognition. The course also examines traditional and contemporary theories of emotion, the cognitive approach to emotion, the emotional brain, and emotion–memory interactions.
