Dr. Muhammad Shahid did his M2R (2006-2007) and Ph.D (2007-2010) from INP-ENSAT, University of Toulouse-France. His PhD thesis was awarded “Leopold Escande Award-2011” based on originality and quality of research by INP-ENSAT, Toulouse-FRANCE. He was listed among the "Highly Cited Researchers 2020" by Clarivate, Web of Science. He is also listed among “Top 2% scientists in biological sciences in the world according to the date released by Mendeley 2020.
His key areas of research include trace elements biogeochemical behavior in the soil-plant-human systems, wastewater and drinking water analysis/treatment, plant stress physiology, remediation of trace element polluted sites, and health risk assessment. He has successfully supervised/co-supervised 40 MS research students. Till date, he has published 2 textbooks, 20 book chapters and 132 research articles with a cumulative impact factor of > 580 and > 10000 citations (H-index 55 and i-10 index 116). His research contributions have > 11 million reads on ResearchGate. He is also member, PI or Co-PI of 20 research projects sponsored by various national and international funding agencies. He has reviewed about 350 research articles for 90 international reputed journals. He has been awarded several research productivity awards by national and international institutions.
