Obtained bachelor's degree in civil engineering from King Saud University in1982.

Obtained master's degree in civil engineering (specializing in geotechnical engineering) from the University of Colorado, Boulder, USA, in 1986.

Obtained PhD in Civil Engineering (specializing in Geotechnical Engineering) from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA, in 1992.

Won the award of the thirty-fourth Kuwait Book Fair for the year 2009 for the best book translated into Arabic in science for translating the book (Geotechnical Engineering: Foundation Design, Part One and Two) authored by John Cernica - Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (2010)

Received the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Award for Translation in Natural Sciences from other languages into Arabic for translating the book (Geotechnical Engineering: Soil Mechanics) by John Cernica from English into Arabic (2007)

Previously member of many councils such as King Saud University Council, Deans Council, Scientific Council, College of Engineering Council, Civil Engineering Department Council, and the Translation Center Council at King Saud University.
