My research activities are mainly focused on molecular depiction of the genes involved in insect reproduction, development, behaviour and physiology, with an ultimate goal to exploit this molecular information to design the future novel pest control strategies by deploying the modern biotech approaches like RNAi. Also, we use the DNAbarcoding technique based on mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) to identify the genetic diversity among various insect populations/species. Current research interests are in the domains of: • Entomology • Molecular Biology • Biotechnology • Genomics • Biochemistry • Physiology • Proteomics • Bioinformatics • Integrated pest management (IPM) • Biocontrol of insect pests
