The course is a part of the Master of Science in Biochemistry program. This course provides a comprehensive overview of enzyme mechanisms, covering fundamental concepts such as enzyme action theories, single and double-displacement mechanisms, enzyme kinetics, and regulatory enzymes. Students will explore topics such as enzyme-catalyzed reactions, enzyme inhibition, and the use of enzymes as drug targets. The course emphasizes both classical and contemporary research, encouraging students to present and critically discuss literature relevant to enzyme mechanisms. It involves 45 contact hours, consisting of lectures and student-led presentations, with assessments through exams, quizzes, and presentations.
