Dr. Mohammed S Alsalhi

Bio
Dr. Mohammed obtained a BSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences from King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He earned an MSc in Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Control (with distinction) and a PhD from King’s College London, United Kingdom, where he conducted research on amino acids to develop freeze-dried co-amorphous formulations with Dr. Andrew Chan and Dr. Paul Royall.
Dr. Alsalhi was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, College of Pharmacy, King Saud University. He later became the Head of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department at the same institution. Dr. Alsalhi has contributed to various multidisciplinary research projects, expanding his expertise across multiple domains in pharmaceutical chemistry.
Dr. Alsalhi's current research focuses on the solid-state properties of drugs and dosage forms. His primary interest lies in incorporating low-molecular-weight excipients, such as hydrotropes or co-formers, into pharmaceutical formulations to enhance the performance of hydrophobic drugs, ultimately improving their bioavailability. His work involves characterizing and understanding the physicochemical properties of drugs in both their isolated and formulated states. He has authored several research articles in high-impact, international peer-reviewed journals.
