Biography of Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mehedi Hassan

Bio
Mohammad Mehedi Hassan is a Full Professor in the Department of Information Systems, College of Computer and Information Sciences (CCIS), at King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Kyung Hee University, South Korea, in 2011. He was awarded a Ph.D. scholarship under the Korean Government IT Scholarship for International Students, supported by the Institute for Information Technology Advancement (IITA). His research interests include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud and Edge Computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, Wireless Sensor Networks, and Cybersecurity. Prof. Mehedi has authored and co-authored over 422 publications, including 379 SCI/ISI-indexed journal papers and 43 conference papers, published in leading venues such as IEEE, ACM, Springer, and Elsevier journals and flagship conferences. He has been recognized among the top 2% of scientists globally and ranked 9th among the top computer scientists in Saudi Arabia, as per Research.com. Additionally, he is ranked 4th among the top 20 researchers affiliated with Saudi organizations based on the number of publications on Artificial Intelligence in ICT from 2014-2023, according to The Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDIA), Saudi Arabia.Prof. Mehedi has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Distinguished Researcher Award from CCIS, KSU (2020), the Excellence in Research Award (2015 & 2016), the Outstanding Editors Award from Future Generation Computer Systems (2021), the Best Conference Paper Award from IEEE STI (2020), the Best Journal Paper Award from IEEE Systems Journal (2018), and the Best Conference Paper Award from CloudComp (2014). He is actively involved in multiple research projects, serving as the Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI for more than 10 funded research projects.He has also supervised more than 13 Ph.D. theses. His leadership roles extend to serving as a chair and technical program committee (TPC) member in numerous international conferences. He is also an editorial board member of SCI/ISI-Indexed journals, including Future Generation Computer Systems and Computers and Electrical Engineering Journal, and a guest editor for multiple international ISI-indexed journals. Prof. Mehedi is currently a Senior Member of IEEE. His research contributions and leadership have significantly impacted the advancement of AI-driven technologies, healthcare informatics, and IoT applications.
