(BCH 103) Biochemical fundamentals of Life
This course is an introductory course of the basics of Biochemistry of life.
The aim of this course is to familiarize students with the basics needed for higher level courses like:
i. The cell structure, classification, eukaryotes and prokaryotes, Cell organelles.
ii. Relevant chemical concepts (chemical bonds, functional groups, equilibrium, and energy),
iii. Biomolecules and their assembly to macromolecules
iv. Structure, characteristics and properties of water.
v. Buffers and their role in the biological system.
