Thermodynamics II

ME 374 (Thermodynamics II) is a 2-credit hour (2 weekly lectures) fourth-year course. The course is designed to introduce students to availability (exergy); ideal gas mixtures; gas vapor mixtures; thermodynamics of gas compressors; combustion; air standard cycles. During this course, special emphasis is placed on real-life examples in which the above-mentioned concepts are relevant. Throughout the semester, students are required to submit homework assignments, take frequent quizzes and write a computer program as their term project. The intent of these activities is to deepen the students’ understanding of thermodynamic knowledge and its application, thereby contributing to the achievement of student outcomes.
