course
CEN 531: Computer Networks
This course educates the student: on the principles in circuit and packet switched (wide area) networks as well as broadcast (local area) networks; on the principles of transport, network and data link layer protocols; and on the design issues in computer networking applications. At the end of the course, students will be able to understand the underlying principles in computer networks and to design and analyze network architectures. They will also be prepared to start research work in local and wide area networks dealing with their access mechanisms, routing algorithms, performance evaluation methodologies, and related issues.
