Dr. M. I. Al-Rayif received his B.Sc degree in the field of Electrical Engineering from King Saud University in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in 1989. He received his M.Sc and Ph.D degrees from Newcastle University, UK, in 2006 and 2010, respectively, in the field of Communication and Signal Processing. From 1999 to 2014, he worked in many positions in the communications management at the Directorate General of Border Guard, Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia such as; the head of the Wire/Wireless communication systems and the director of the communication management, besides the participation in different committees of industrial tests, and projects management and installation. From Dec. 19th, 2013 up to Sep. 10th, 2017, Dr. Al-Rayif is appointed as a faculty member of King Khalid University, Department of Electrical Engineering, in SA. During this period, he took over many tasks and positions including the chairman of the department, and the vice-dean. From Sep. 10th, 2017 to Oct. 10th 2019, he is involved as a cooperative faculty member in Applied Electrical Engineering Department of King Saud University at Almuzahmia branch. Lastly, he is appointed as a faculty member from 10/10/2019 up to date, in the Applied Electrical Engineering department / KSU. He has been engaged in teaching the following courses: Signal Processing, Digital Signal Processing, Electrical Engineering-1, Linear Algebra and Vector Analysis, Calculus for Engineers, Wireless Systems, Principles of communications, and Antennas and Wave Propagation, besides the supervision of undergraduate projects and COOP training groups. The most important research where he interests are Multiple Communications Antennas (MIMO/massive MIMO Systems), Spatial-Modulation techniques, Communications with millimeter-waveforms, PAPR reduction techniques, and OFDM/UFMC techniques.
