COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This PDAT course is the fourth of ten integrated courses called Pathophysiology, Drug Action and Therapeutics courses’ modules. The course seeks to relate disease pathophysiology to treatment with drugs integrating the principles of medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacotherapeutics to the following areas: Psychiatric disorders and drugs of abuse.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the completion of the course series, the student should be able to:
Know the pharmacology and medicinal chemistry integrated with the pathophysiology and pharmacotherapeutics of psychiatric disorders and drug abuse.
