Mohamed has 13 years of experience in financial and sustainability accounting. He began his career as an external auditor at Deloitte & Touche. After that, he became an academic at King Saud University and worked as a research assistant at Durham University. Mohamed's research investigated sustainability and financial accounting drivers and sustainability accounting changes in development banks. Based on his findings, recommends the adoption of a top-level, committed, sustainable strategy that is well-formulated and stakeholder-driven. This approach is crucial to allow organisations to effectively assess how well they are achieving their long-term strategies, which can be expressed as short- and long-term KPIs reported in the organisations' sustainability reports (e.g., ESG reporting).
