introduction/brief CV

Assistant Professor of Water Resources Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering at King Saud University. I earned my Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University, USA, in 2024 with distinction. My research interests focus on surface and subsurface hydrology and their interactions, water resources management, agricultural hydrology, and the impacts of climate change and water management practices on hydrologic systems.
I teach courses in hydrology, water resources engineering, and hydraulic structures, and I have published several peer-reviewed articles in internationally recognized journals, including those affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

areas of expertise

  • Surface Hydrology, including analysis of surface runoff, precipitation, and hydrologic responses of watersheds.
  • Subsurface Hydrology (Groundwater), focusing on groundwater storage, water-level fluctuations, and flow through porous media.
  • Surface–Groundwater Interactions and their implications for water budgets and hydrologic system dynamics.
  • Water Resources Management and Planning in arid and semi-arid regions.
  • Hydrologic and Watershed Modeling using mathematical and computational models.
  • Agricultural Hydrology, with emphasis on the impacts of irrigation practices and agricultural water management on hydrologic cycles.
  • Climate Change Impacts on Water Resources, including hydrologic system responses under different climate scenarios.
