ARCH 352: Architectural Theory I
This course examines the key ideas, concepts, and texts that have shaped architectural thought. It introduces architectural theory as a critical framework for understanding, interpreting, and evaluating the built environment, and explores the relationships among architecture, culture, society, technology, and human experience. Through the study of influential theoretical positions and foundational writings, students develop the ability to analyse architectural works critically and to engage with theory as an integral component of design thinking and practice.
