PGE 476: Drilling Engineering Laboratory (B.Sc. Course)
1. Drilling Fluids: density, viscosity, gel strength, filtration, HPHT filter loss, lubricity, solids content, oil content, sand content, pH and filtrate chemical analysis.
2. Cement Slurry: density, viscosity, filtration, thickening time, free water.
3. Hard Set Cement: tensile and compressive strength, casing-cement bond strength, cement-formation bond strength.
4. Group Work Practicing: 1) Effect of contaminations on drilling fluid properties, 2) Effect of contamination on oil well cement, 3) Evaluation of alternative commercial drilling fluid additives, and 4) Bentonite quality investigation.
5. Special Studies: 1) Cement-Casing bond strength, and 2) Cement-Formation bond strength.
