CLS 391 Clinical Haematology II
This course aims to cover the physiology and pathology of white blood cells. Students will be introduced to the normal development, morphology, and functions of white blood cells (WBCs). This will be followed by in-depth discussion of nature, causes, and laboratory diagnosis of benign and malignant WBC disorders. WBC pathology and diagnosis of different types of benign WBCs disorders such as leukemoid reaction, leucopenia, and chronic granulomatous disease will be covered. The main concepts of haematological malignancies such as leukemia and lymphoma as well as modern laboratory assessment techniques in diagnostic oncology will be discussed in details.
