introduction/brief CV

Dr. Muhammad Omer Aijaz is a Research Scientist at the Center of Excellence for Research in Engineering Materials (CEREM), King Saud University. He holds a PhD in Polymer Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and has more than 10 years of research experience in polymeric materials, advanced membranes, and sustainable materials.

His research focuses on the development of electrospun nanofibrous membranes and functional polymer nanocomposites for sustainable water and environmental applications. His current research interests include membrane distillation, water desalination and purification, solar-driven interfacial evaporation, air-to-water harvesting through fog condensation, sustainable and bio-based polymers, superhydrophobic and superhydrophilic membranes, and carbon-based functional materials.

His work integrates polymer engineering, electrospinning, nanotechnology, surface engineering, and membrane science to develop high-performance and sustainable materials for water treatment, desalination, environmental protection, and resource recovery.
