Sport Professionalism
This course is designed to provide a critical interpretation of the traditional social and economic aspects of sport. It provides an insightful analysis of professional sport and identifies alternative foundations for the current professional sports model. This course is based on the fact that sports professionalism is a complex phenomenon that includes many unique factors depending on its global reach, financing and regulation. This course helps students to reach a broader understanding of the phenomenon of sports professionalism related to the professionalization of activities, individuals, structures, and processes and the extent to which they are affected by internal and external contextual factors.
