Dr. Wani is a senior biotechnology professional with more than 15 years of experience in biomedical research, biobanking, and project coordination, currently serving as Biobank Manager and Research Associate at the Chair for Biomarkers of Chronic Diseases, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. He holds a PhD in biotechnology from Chandigarh University, on a research topic centered on metabolically healthy obesity phenotypes in the Saudi population. Dr. Wani has a strong publication record, with 85 peer-reviewed articles, an H-index of 25, and over 2,000 citations, with the majority of publications appearing in high-impact Q1 journals. His research interests span obesity phenotypes, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular risk, inflammation, vitamin D deficiency, and endocrine disorders. He has extensive technical expertise in biobanking systems, biospecimen management, biochemical and immunological assays, database development, and large-scale population studies. Dr. Wani has played a pivotal role in establishing and managing large biorepositories, supporting funded research projects, mentoring postgraduate students, and delivering structured research training programs, thereby contributing significantly to translational and population-based biomedical research.
