IE 251 (Manufacturing Materials)

The Course introduces students to advanced materials and their applications with the aim to deepen their understanding about i) how materials properties guide materials selection at the product design stage, ii) how core materials properties (either surface- or bulk properties) are changed, adapted or mended to specific user environment and/or an application field through a variety of manufacturing methods, and iii) how commercial material objects (or products) are manufactured in a factory setting.
