1. Course Description
This course offers an introduction to the study of human language. It aims at teaching students the basic
fundamental concepts of linguistics and its different branches that deal with different levels of language
structure. It also provides students with a theoretical background and practical tools to analyze language
in terms of phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics.
