Knowledge of the basics of orthodontics is essential for the dental students. Through a series of lectures and practical sessions, this course will provide the undergraduate students with the background of the growth and development of dentofacial structures, characteristics of normal occlusion, etiology and diagnosis of malocclusion and the treatment of occlusal discrepancies. In addition, the course will expose the students to various orthodontic records and will prepare the students to analyze them and interpret the findings. The course also allows the students to recognize different orthodontic appliances and know their proper management.  

The course consists of:
  • Lecture for one hour
  • Practical session for three hours
